2023 52:1 – Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. [cf. Ps. 49:6-9 – They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. Ps. 97:7 – Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. Eph. 5:5 – For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
